AMY MITCHELL has just inherited her family’s sole treasure: The Bijou, a once glorious Black-owned gem of a movie theater in Harlem. Unfortunately, the Bijou has fallen on hard times due to gentrification, but the self-described multi-hyphenate "ticket taker-popcorn popper-reel runner-ununiformed usher” is determined to make the Bijou grand again.
DAVE RICHMAN has other ideas. He’s just been put in charge of East Coast development for MultiCine, a national company that buys small struggling movie theaters and converts them to multiplex cinemas. Since the ambitious over-achiever grew up in nearby Manhattan he's convinced that his first assignment -- The Bijou -- is a slam-dunk.
However, Dave's business plan didn't include meeting Amy. Will their "not-so-meet-cute" end at the "all is lost moment" or will this story develop into a rom-com worthy of a sold-out screening at The Bijou?
LOVE AT THE BIJOU is a heartfelt romantic comedy by Robert Kahn.
