After twenty-four years together, ANDREW LANE and MILES KETTERING are going through a divorce. Not only are they unraveling their relationship but also their business—Miles once had a popular home-style show on cable with Andrew serving as his producer/manager—the failure of which they blame on each other. Now, they’d be happy to never, ever see each other again.
But—the daughter they both adore, KELLY, announces she’s getting married, and that means one very important thing: a wedding.
Thrown together, at event after event—meeting the in-laws, planning the wedding, throwing an elaborate engagement party—the two clash over everything until, their very wealthy future in-laws, BRADLEY and PUDGE LINCOLN, try to take over the entire wedding.
Andrew and Miles realize they have to work together in order to compete with the overbearing Lincolns. As the wedding spirals out of control, they rediscover how much they enjoy being together and working together. Of course, no one on either side of the aisle pays any attention to the fact that this is no longer the wedding Kelly and her fiancé wanted.
When the wedding day finally arrives, the bride and groom have secretly eloped. At the last moment, Andrew and Miles re-commit to each other (and possibly a new business venture—a cable show on weddings) and walk down the aisle themselves to renew their vows.
FATHERS OF THE BRIDE is an LGBTQ+ love story based upon the upcoming novel of the same name by three-time Lambda Literary Award-winning writer Marshall Thornton, who is best known for his two popular mystery series, the Boystown Mysteries and the Pinx Video Mysteries.
